My Journey:"Is Pearlington A Dream?" Do I Live Here?

Rocky Pullmans House and our Mailboxes !!

WHERE IS PEARLINGTON MISSISSIPPI ??????? DO WE REALLY LIVE IN A SMALL UNINCORPORATED TOWN, ON THE MISSISSIPPI AND LOUISIANA STATE LINES???? It REALLY IS ON THE UNITED STATES MAP !!!!!!!!!!!!!! IN HANCOCK COUNTY ?????????

I do get mail here, it might be in a small row of boxes in a empty parking lot , where the Chevas Grocery was, until it burnt down. I did get mail at a REAL POSTOFFICE, until Katrina came and took it away. I even had a REAL MAILBOX in front of my house also. Katrina took it too, but I know I had it and thats where my mail came to everyday. We pay taxes in HANCOCK COUNTY. We spend our $money in Hancock Co. We have car tags that say Hancock Co.and Ms.
My drivers license says I live in Pearlington, Ms. But Who Knows We Are A Town, and People, Families, Live Here !!! Who recognises us????? Who Are We? Who Represents Us? Does Gene Taylor?? No !! Does Haley Barbour ?? No !! Does Rocky Pullman?? No !Who Does? Can somebody tell me????????????????????
So I know President Bush doesn't know we're here. I don't think FEMA does either!
Today I had a phone call from one of the Recovery Centers that is ran by a volunteer group. Not a small one, a large group, in BaySt.Louis. They said they can't help me because Pearlington isn't in their area !!! I'd like to know who's area we are in? ?????Maybe NASA since we live by the easement area, or the school board, because so much of Pearlington is their land! ?? Who do we have to turn to or to help us??? The RECOVERY CENTER in PEARLINGTON cannot take care of this whole town. But they do let ALL of Hancock Co. and anybody else that goes to the Pearlmart get the supplies they want. The people from Slidell, Picayune, from all over. And when the shipment of goods comes from Florida at the end of each month ALL of Hancock Co. can get stuff there. I haven't gotten anything from them yet. In fact the 1st. one I went to, a guy told me I couldn't even sit on the step of one of the cottages there. Being disabled with my back & legs, I can't stand long. I'd seen older people sitting there for a hour or more. The minute I sat down, he told me I have to move ! He was a real jerk. At least they have chairs there now. And then by the time they got to my number they had one truck left and they wouldn't open it. All that was left was a few odds and ends. They said everyone had gotten a chance to get stuff, except for 10-20 people ! So I left, after sitting there hours. But WHO do we have?? ""NOBODY"" !!!!!
Can somebody tell us if we are a town? Or what we are !!! Who can we contact for HELP?????? WHO is in our area???????? WHERE IS PEARLINGTON , MS ???????
WHERE IS PEARLINGTON, MISSISSIPPI ???????????????????
We Are The ForGotten Town !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
DO NOT FORSAKE US!!!!!! WE ARE HERE, WE ARE NO FOOTNOTE!!!!!!!!! WE ARE AMERICAN CITIZENS, NOT A THIRD WORLD COUNTRY !!! OR WORSE !! WE LIVE !!!!!!!WE SURVIVED, WE'RE SURVIVOR'S !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Volunteer Resources in Hancock County

Thank-you Judy for the links. I already have most of them. I spend hours on this computer looking up blogs, and anything to do with getting help for Pearlington and Hancock County. But I don't think I had the one for Wavelandcitizensfund. Anything helps thats for sure. I've applied time after time at the Pearlington Recovert center. Laurie has told me that the materials that come there are already designated for people! I think you have to be on their "Adopt A Home" list to get help there. Or somebody that they know or has been a volunteer. I know one family they have built a house for, her dad, the Charles B Murphy school was named after him. So what does that tell you? And I'm not sure how true it is, but I heard they had insurance and got lots of fema money. So thats how it works in this small town. Family and friends first. And if you do something to make them mad you'll never get help! Laurie asked me to fill out a work order putting everything I needed to fix my mobile home, from electrical to screws. I did and gave it to her. I'm sure my paper is being used to get material for them. And the food that comes into that place, we the residents of Pearlington don't get to even see half of the stuff. They keep it hid in the back so we can't get to it. They say it's to feed the volunteers. I think most places give the volunteers a spot to sleep, but most of them have to take care of feeding themselves. They built all those bunk houses for the volunteers, they're airconditioned, and i'm sure will be heated. I wonder who pays the electric bill? And I wonder how do they decide what donations come there , goes to the volunteers or the community? I guess it's left up to the three of them. Laurie from N.Y. and Larry and Herb, two Pearlington residents. And Larry have been back in his house for months now. Now they've been working on his mother-in-laws house. And I'm not sure about Herb. The recovery center says they help the disabled & single mothers with children, and the elderly first. Well I'm disabled and they have never once asked me about my disabilities. I asked Laurie, "Do I have to be 80 before I can get any help?" So as far as the Pearlington Recovery center, it's out of the question. A few months back when the company was coming to reblock my mobile home I asked for some help to move some stuff from around my trailer. And guess who did it? YES, ME !! I put my name on the list several different times to get a storage shed, and do I have one? NO, my stuff is sitting on the ground getting more ruined. And all Larry could say was "I don't have one either" But he's got a enclosed garage, and a finished house. My time will come, sooner or later. God Kept me here for a reason, so I know I will get another home!! God Bless you Judy !And thanks for the info. :0)
